Quick verdict

cloro is the API-first choice for teams that want live AI-answer and Google data in their own warehouse, dashboard, or agent workflow. Its published credit pricing, free tier, state-level targeting, webhooks, and hosted MCP server make it unusually accessible for technical teams. It is not a replacement for a ready-made monitoring dashboard: you bring the prompts, reporting, and analysis layer yourself.

Pros and cons

Pros
  • Returns parsed answers, sources, citations, and query fan-out as structured JSON
  • Covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Search, and News
  • Published monthly credit allowances from a free 500-credit tier
  • Supports every country and US state targeting for ChatGPT, Copilot, Perplexity, and Gemini
  • Includes async tasks, webhooks with retries, unlimited seats, and a hosted MCP server
Cons
  • No ready-made dashboard for visibility reporting or stakeholder presentations
  • Requires in-house engineering or data work to turn responses into tracking
  • Does not publish SSO, SAML, or SOC 2 information
  • Unused monthly credits expire rather than rolling over
  • Credit use varies by engine and Google result depth, so capacity planning takes care

What is cloro?

cloro is a REST API for retrieving live answers from AI and search surfaces rather than a dashboard that tracks a fixed prompt set. A request can return a ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Google AI Mode, Google Search, Google News, or Google AI Overview result as structured JSON. The response can include parsed markdown or text, source URLs, citations, shopping blocks, and query fan-out data where that surface returns it.

That distinction changes the buyer. An SEO or data team can feed cloro responses into its own warehouse, BI layer, customer product, or scheduled monitoring job, with the data model it needs. It is a practical fit when a vendor dashboard would duplicate reporting infrastructure you already own. Teams without that infrastructure should expect to build it, because cloro does not offer a finished visibility-reporting interface.

The commercial model is refreshingly concrete for an API product. Every account can start with 500 credits per month, then choose published monthly plans from $30. Credits are charged only after a successful extraction, and the plan cards publish included credits, concurrent-job limits, support level, and unlimited seats. Monthly credits do not carry into the next billing cycle.

Core features

Multi-engine AI answer API

cloro exposes separate endpoints for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Google AI Mode, Google Search, and Google News. Google Search calls can include an AI Overview. This is raw retrieval infrastructure: submit a query, choose the relevant country or state where available, and receive the answer data for your own application or reporting workflow.

Sources, citations, and query fan-out

Responses can include parsed sources and citations alongside the answer text, so a technical team does not need to extract them from raw page markup. cloro also documents query fan-out in its returned objects. That is useful when you want to store the evidence behind an answer, compare cited domains across engines, or pass the response to an internal analysis workflow.

Geo-targeting by country and US state

cloro supports country targeting globally. It also supports US state-level routing for ChatGPT, Copilot, Perplexity, and Gemini: pass a state with country US to run through a proxy in that state. The provider notes that model availability can still vary by region, including Gemini availability restrictions in some places.

Async webhooks and retries

For larger batches, cloro offers asynchronous tasks instead of requiring a client to loop through synchronous calls. Add a webhook URL when creating the task to receive completed results. The webhook documentation says failed deliveries are retried up to five times with exponential backoff, while polling remains available when no webhook is supplied.

Hosted MCP server

cloro runs a hosted MCP server for MCP-capable clients such as Claude and Cursor. It exposes monitoring tools for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Google AI Mode, Google Search, and Google News, plus country and state discovery tools. That makes the same retrieval layer usable in an agent workflow without building a separate tool wrapper.

Who it is for

Data and engineering teams

Teams that already have a warehouse, internal dashboard, or application and want AI answer data to live there. cloro gives them structured response data and predictable plan limits instead of forcing a second reporting system.

AI visibility product builders

Agencies, SaaS products, and technical consultancies building their own tracking, citation analysis, or client-facing workflow. The API, async tasks, webhooks, and hosted MCP server fit that foundation.

Geo-sensitive research teams

Teams that need to compare answers by country, or by US state on ChatGPT, Copilot, Perplexity, and Gemini. They can store the returned citations and responses alongside the location that produced them.

Verdict

cloro earns its place as the API option in AI visibility. The product supplies a broad set of live AI and Google results, parsed evidence, country and state targeting, and integration paths that let technical teams keep reporting in their own stack. The tradeoff is direct: it provides the data layer, not the executive-ready dashboard, SSO details, or managed analysis that an enterprise procurement team may expect.

Recommendation: Recommended for teams with in-house data or engineering resources that want to build AI-answer tracking into their own warehouse, dashboards, or agents. Choose a dashboard-first vendor if you need finished reporting without implementation work.

Frequently asked questions

Can cloro replace an AI visibility dashboard for an enterprise team?

cloro can supply the live answer, source, citation, and location data behind an AI visibility program, but it does not provide a ready-made reporting dashboard. Enterprise teams need to build the dashboard, prompt management, and stakeholder reporting in their own tools.

Which AI and Google results can cloro return through its API?

cloro can return ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Google AI Mode, Google Search, Google News, and Google AI Overview data through its documented endpoints. Google AI Overview is returned with a Google Search request when requested.

Does cloro support country and US state-level AI answer tracking?

cloro supports all countries globally and US state-level targeting for ChatGPT, Copilot, Perplexity, and Gemini. State targeting uses a US state parameter alongside country US, subject to each model’s regional availability.

How does cloro pricing work for teams building their own AI tracking?

cloro offers 500 free monthly credits, then published monthly plans from $30 for 37,500 credits through enterprise plans. Credits are charged only after a successful extraction, but unused credits expire at the end of the billing cycle.
