Step-by-step
How to Find All Keywords a Website Ranks For in Ahrefs
- 01
Enter the right target in Site Explorer
Open Site Explorer and enter the website, subfolder, or specific URL you want to investigate. Use the narrowest target that answers the question. A domain view is useful for the whole site, while a URL view is better when you are diagnosing one page.
- 02
Open the Organic Keywords report
Choose Organic Keywords under Organic search. This report is Ahrefs’ database view of the search queries for which the selected target has been observed ranking in Google’s top 100.
- 03
Choose the country you want to analyse
Set the country before drawing conclusions. Site Explorer’s Organic Keywords report is country-level, and the default country can be changed in Site Explorer settings.
- 04
Filter the keyword list for the question you are answering
Use the available keyword and ranking filters to focus the report. For example, filter by phrase, rank, or SERP feature when you need a smaller research set instead of scanning every observed term.
- 05
Open Top Pages to group keywords by ranking URL
Switch to Top Pages when you want to see which pages bring organic traffic and which keywords belong to each page. This helps separate a domain-wide opportunity from a page-level optimisation task.

Before you continue
- Use a domain, subfolder, or URL target that matches the research question.
- Select the country before comparing keyword counts.
- Treat the list as Ahrefs database coverage, not a complete Google Search Console export.
- Use Top Pages when the important question is which URL ranks, not only which keyword appears.
FAQ
Common questions
Does Ahrefs show every keyword a website ranks for?
Ahrefs shows the keywords in its database where it has observed the target ranking in Google’s top 100. Ahrefs states that the report will usually be smaller than the site’s complete set of rankings because no database contains every possible search query.
Where do I find a competitor’s ranking keywords in Ahrefs?
Enter the competitor’s domain, subfolder, or URL in Site Explorer and open Organic Keywords. You do not need to own the site to analyse the estimated organic keyword data.
Why is a keyword in Organic Keywords but not Rank Tracker?
Organic Keywords is automatically populated from Ahrefs’ database. Rank Tracker only contains terms you add manually to a project, so the two reports have different coverage and update behavior.
Can I see which page ranks for a keyword in Ahrefs?
Yes. The Organic Keywords report shows ranking data for the selected target, and Top Pages lets you view the organic keywords grouped by the pages that bring organic traffic.
